How to publish documents for the Linguistic Team Library
So, you are a language coordinator, you went through all the process to make the best translation possible... now you want to publish the document! This will increase the reach of your awesome translation to universities, schools, libraries, blogs, publications and document sharing websites.
Follow these easy steps and rules, and your document will be added to the official Zeitgeist Movement directory.
Rules and guidelines
- The 'Project Name' column below will direct you to the item's 'working location' (usually within Pootle).
- The document must be proofread. That means no spelling mistakes, no funny translations, no "almost final version". This is the real deal, once it's published there is no turning back, so make sure it's the absolute final version.
- The document must be a well formatted PDF file. How can you make a well formatted PDF? The best way is to use LaTeX, widely used by mathematicians, scientists, engineers, philosophers, linguists, economists and other scholars in academia, and considered the best tool for creating high quality PDF files.
- Here's a guide on using LaTeX on wikibooks and here The Not So Short Introduction to LaTeX
- Alternatively, you can use OpenOffice and use the "Export PDF" function.
- How do you know the document is well formatted? Open the PDF, select and copy the text, paste to a text editor. If the text comes out fine, you are good to go. If the text is full of weird things, you've done something wrong.
If, and only if, the PDF is proofread and well formatted, you may submit it.
